Our latest case study is about Punch, a clothing boutique that recently opened in Baltimore, Maryland. We were excited about this website design as soon as we started seeing them document the process of their retail store being built. They blogged about every step of the process and gave tons of great behind-the-scenes sneak peeks that not only got us, but also their new fans, excited for the final product.
This was a new site design set up on the Shopify platform so, instead of having current site structure to look at and redesign, we had to think about how the site would flow and about their design approach for online. We received a lot of brand style guides and mood boards from the client which was so helpful in really understand this exciting new brand that they were creating. Punch's overall brand style is very feminine with pops of color and bold graphics, like stripes and polka dots.
A lot of their products are very colorful so we wanted to make sure the site was stylized to match their brand but didn't take away from their products. Being a Shopify store, the main priority was to make it easy and quick for people to shop online. With this in mind we set up both a top navigation and sidebar navigation throughout the site to get the viewers to their products quickly.
For the sidebar navigation we were able to incorporate some great illustrations that the client purchased rights to via an Etsy store. The illustrations add a nice touch of feminine design and color to the site along with the fun polka dot background. This was such a fun site to work on and we loved getting the chance to help launch this new brand online with their Shopify store.
